Raila is leading from a different script from Coastal Leaders.

The confusion that always has befallen the NASA fraternity never stops mesmerizing those who care to follow unfolding development in the Kenya political scene. Whereas Raila has been the undisputed enigma of the Kenyan politics, dissenting voices within the NASA coalition has left many bewildered whether Raila control of the alliance is slowly fading away. In his recent political outing in Kilifi, he was left alone and his Lieutenant James Orengo, talking about how justice will be seen to be done only when he is declared the winner and “Sworn In as the president of Kenya.” On the other hand, the coast brigade led by the” Sultan” and Amazon Kingi were busy yapping about secession and self-determination of the Coastal region. The other group of Coastal leaders was at Kwale castigating Raila for shortchanging them during the just ended EALA legislator’s selection and appointment.

However, there is a worrying trend among the two outspoken coastal governors Joho and Kingi. I think their call for secession is not honest but motivated by self-aggrandizement. Article 180 (a) of the Kenyan constitution states that, “a person shall not hold a seat as a governor if such a person has held office as a county governor for more than two terms.” The pair knows quite well that their stint in the Kenyan leadership is soon coming to a halt as they are serving their last term as Governors. I don’t see either of them having political influence beyond their respective counties leave alone the Kenyan national politics, not for anything else but because of lack of their self-belief and political cowardice. Oblivious of these they are now pushing their people to secede so that they can continue having political influence rather than help the Coastal residence.

Did you Know that the Reign of Wangu Wa Makeri was brought down by a man from Kiambu county?

Wangu wa Makeri was born in Muranga at around 1856 at Gitei village in Kangema  Muranga County. She was a colonial administrator who was feted like a queen. She was revered and as well feared by men because of her tyrannical attitude she had against men. It is on record that she used to be carried by men on their back in rounds wherever she wanted to go. Her heavy-handedness was extended to her marriage. She was married to one wealthy man called Makeri from muranga with whom they had a troubled marriage. But where Makeri failed and typical of Kiambu men,

Wangu was impregnated and taken back to her rightful place by a man from Kiambu County “the Paramount Chief Karuri wa Gakure from Karuri Kiambu.” Whenever the chief was visiting Muranga he could pass by Makeri’s home, and since they were age mates with the husband Wangu wa Makeri would entertain him for the night, it seems this man was a real lover boy because later on the two became inseparable. It is only after Karuri wa Gakure impregnated the iron lady that Muranga men became liberated.

The Realization of 24-hour Economy can be Realized if Kenya can do these

The benefits that can be accrued from a 24 hours economy are enormous. Time is now ripe for Kenyan Government to start investing seriously towards the realization of the same. Our president Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta during his inauguration speech directed that beginning  1st Dec 2017, power charges will be reduced by half for the manufacturers who will be carrying on their businesses from 10:00 pm in the night and 6:00 am in the morning. This move was applaud-able able as it will go a long way in facilitating the creation of wealth and jobs.
However, it is my humble opinion that such efforts should also be directed towards some of the public sector areas where because of the high demand of services from Kenyans, people usually spend even days before they are attended to. This delay in services provision has contributed profoundly to spread of corruption as people seek for instant services.
To this end I feel the following government institutions need to be turned into 24 hours service delivery centers, because of the huge congestion's they experience during the day:
1 Ministry of land registries countrywide
2 Registrations of birth registries
3 Huduma Centers
4 Kenya Revenue Authority offices
5 Kenya Power and Lighting Company county headquarters
6 Public universities
If this is realized it will not only complement the current efforts and investment made by the government towards the realization of 24 hours economy, but it will also aid in the reduction of corruption, ease the burden of service delivery, reduce congestion in our cities, create job opportunities and  propel our country towards the realization of the vision 2030.
